Hungry?

26,000 Children die each day from hunger related causes!  EVERY SINGLE DAY!
So what can you do?

Our youth group is going to do a 30 hour fast...
to raise awareness
to feel hunger
to pray for children everywhere
to draw close to God
to raise $ for World Vision

You too can participate.  You can pray for us this Friday and Saturday, June 26 and June 27.  You can also give to the fast.  A dollar for each hour of the fast would be $30, and that would feed a child for a month.

We have such abundance here in the United States.  If you think you cannot give...consider all the things you spend money on each week, even each day... a latte, a movie, a dinner out, a car wash.  Consider giving that money this week to World Vision.

To give: message Jeff or go online before June 30th and give at world vision site

Thanks! David

Paintball games

PaintballJan30 051

Charlie

The games finally began with a capture the flag game....two teams, yellow and red.
The field was such that there was a lot of cross fire, so as the photographer, I was pretty much pinned over on the side by the fence.  I took a chance and crossed the field once to try to get pictures of other shooters.

Christmas Party and skit

The guys table, at the Lighthouse Christmas dinner

ChristmasParty 026

Great food and lots of it!

ChristmasParty 030

ChristmasParty 033

Jacob and Chris

ChristmasParty 035

Sebastian

ChristmasParty 036

The girls

ChristmasParty 045

Alexis...mmmm, candle wax

ChristmasParty 029

Nick P. played on the flute, with his sister Hannah on guitar for carol singing.

ChristmasParty 047

What does Amy see?

ChristmasParty 048

Jacob as a candy cane and Jeff as a candle!

ChristmasParty 049

The cast assembles outside before the skit.
Nick the bell, David the tree, Jacob the candy cane, Jeff the candle, Jenny the mom and stage director, Dani the card, Paige the Angel, Chris the star,Sebastian the stocking, and Anthony the present.

ChristmasParty 052

All of the decorations in the play were rather stuck on themselves...and wanted to be the center of attention.  So at the beginning they all argued with one another and said why they should be the focus at Christmas.

ChristmasParty 054

Jacob was so very funny as the candy cane!  Dani stepped in and filled in as the card at the last minute (that is why she has the scrip in her face!).  Most of the kids knew their lines...but the scripts helped them to keep their place...they really did well.

ChristmasParty 056

When Anthony ran up on stage everyone laughed ...just to see a big walking present! We tried to find a skit that had a good message and was fun.  This came across, as there was a lot of laughter...both at the actors in costume and at the lines.

ChristmasParty 058

Tanya and Jenny made all the felt costumes with lots of cutting and gluing.

ChristmasParty 060

Sebastian our deflated stocking, and David the stuck up tree, who kept singing..."O Christmas tree"...

ChristmasParty 061

Finally everyone meets the "new kid", Candle.  He helps them all to see that they all have important jobs representing Jesus!  Really, it was a great metaphor for life in the body of Christ!

How does your life point to Christ?  Do you know what special gifts he has given you to use?

ChristmasParty 067

The present is told he represents the greatest gift...Jesus.

ChristmasParty 072

The angel in the spotlight...lamenting that she was so worried about her missing halo...that she wasn't concerned about the missing candy cane.  She realized that people should be able to "see" that she is an angel even without her halo!

Can people see that you are a Christian?

ChristmasParty 073

The candy cane tip toeing up behind the Angel...

ChristmasParty 076

...with her missing halo!

ChristmasParty 080

The decorations all freeze as they hear the family come in...now they really are great decorations!

ChristmasParty 083

The end.

The cast takes a final bow
